Shah Rukh Khan refuses to anchor Zor Ka Jhatka 2

A year ago, actor Shah Rukh Khan had announced around this week that he would be anchoring Zor Ka Jhatka – Total Wipeout for Imagine. And he did. Soon after the show began, the show’s broadcasters announced that they planned to produce season two of the show the following year.
When asked, Shah Rukh denies that he ever agreed to host another season of the show after the first one.
“I haven’t been offered anything like that. In fact, I decided to anchor the previous season because I needed money. I had told Sameer Nair, my friend and the head honcho of the channel, that I was in need. He had that show which needed 12 days of my time in January. I didn’t have to fly out or make any extra effort. It would be shot at Yash Raj,” he recalls. “Needs met and I earned about Rs 40 crore out of it, which was straight away invested in RA.One.”
If offered, would he anchor Zor Ka Jhatka season two now? “I’m not sure. The timing needs to be right. Besides, it’s too hypothetical a situation to comment on,” says Shah Rukh. A year ago, he had even said that Star Network was in talks with him for another show. “Ideas are always exchanged. It’s not necessary that we turn everything into a business deal,” he explains.
The actor will shoot most of next year with Yash Chopra who returns to direction with a romantic movie. Would he have the time for the small screen then? “I haven’t been offered a likeable concept yet. But if something interesting comes my way, I’ll try and make time for it. I would love to connect with my audience through their TV sets again,” says Shah Rukh, who made his small screen debut with Kaun Banega Crorepati’s third season. “It’s a fun medium to be a part of.”
